How to use N-R-G to W-I-N
50 years in one craft. Until yesterday, per a close friend, I never really even thought of it that way.
Being focused on one area of life for so long does give one a unique vantage point and knowledge you can't get from anywhere else, but precious and one-of-a-kind, time.
Based on a lot of experience and study, I'd offer that if you want to begin to use energy in order to help your sports team, I believe it's a good idea to begin with a strong look into science.
For my .02, an in depth look into old and new science should be your first step.
If you want to know the second step, you might brush up on your human biology and perhaps some Laws of Nature.
"Nature is the source of all true knowledge. She has her own logic, her own laws, she has no effect without cause nor invention without necessity." ~Leonardo da Vinci
I don't care how tough you are, even if you are tough enough to do things that would make a Billy goat puke, if you go against nature, you are going to pay the price.
As a leader, I believe your task and imperative to give the thoroughbreds some rest so the miraculous body can perform its magic. S/he as Coach should not try to go against nature because that is a loosing proposition.
At this point, it appears that some have entered over-load levels and places where each push-up and grueling, knee pounding, sprint actually and unfortunately becomes counter-productive to the teams cause and very purpose.
At some point in the process of over training, the muscles break down rather than build. I don't care who it is, it's sad to watch someone loose for working "too hard."
Even if the cause and path is noble and honorable and built around something as respectful as "hard work."
Indeed, God Himself loves hard work, but their are parameters that must be honored - for God is the one who created and set them.
Time will show you how going against both the natural Laws of Science and Human Biology is not productive, nor wise, and is bound to manifest as burn out, injuries, loss of drive and purpose.
It becomes too much and oft the athlete simply can't wait for the insanity to be over.
And he will complete his time and process with respect and honorable lips but he will find the whole experience stained with unfulfillness and in the long run, far less that what he expected when he joined on.
No matter how tough the mind is, the body has limits and laws that cannot be broken without consequence.
Understanding fully via a lifetime of experience, that generally the mind gives way, long before the body, I offer it is also true that the body does indeed and in fact have actual limits and needs, that if go unheeded, shall cause problems in some shape or form.
Generally, one cannot predict the shape or form but the fall-out is easy to see a comin', as predictable as paint drying on a hot, dry, airy, sunny, afternoon day.
If the goal is optimization, the body needs rest, because that's when the muscles grow and oxygenation takes place. Rest is no joke and will stand for zero disrespect.
Biology is not man made, you see and cannot be overruled no matter how passionate the poor man trying to overrule her.
That's why I feel you can trust it. Biology is straight from the hands of God.
If you try to operate outside these lines, again, drawn by non other than, God, it's foreseeable that you might find hardships all over the place.
Seemingly "bad luck" will follow you as the dawn follows the night.
Yet, as we all know luck had nothing to do with it.
The Coach of tomorrow will not only have a deep understanding of Science, s/he will make it their definite priority.
No matter your geographical location, I invite you to take a stance next to the man utilizing the power of God.
The world is changing dramatically on the daily; human psychology, physics, even Universal Laws, are changing right before our eyes. ("Universal" is merely a toothless word, an idea, made up by silly mankind - and "Law" was based on what we thought was the "Law" at that time, in time.) But matter of factly, it no longer, is.
So have the tools, tactics and techniques for sport optimization. You might be surprised by what is all out there.
Many feel there is still much to be found out regarding the mystery of the Universe.
Clearly only God knows all the mysteries of the Universe, and we are not God.
God is God, and if we think we've already learned all there is to know about the magical way of the Universe, we are vastly and totally underestimating the wondrous and glorious power of God.
The Coach of tomorrow respects God and Science. Moreover s/he will evolve with this uniquely powerful combo and the one to behold.
You cannot beat God and Science with Intensity and Sprints.
You cannot beat God with whipping chains and thundering voices.
Seems you can only tie with God, and the only way to do this is to follow the leader.
Try and tap into the higher power, dipped in modern day physics and share in the divinity.
If you want to be a successful coach and use the most effective and efficient tools to lead your team to the best versions of themselves, I offer that this is the way to go.
Part of Coaching is staying up with times, in and out of the wrestling room.
The Coach of tomorrow will be into less and less double-legs and cross-body rides, and more and more into visualization, and good ol' feelin' vibes.
The Champions of tomorrow will be sleeping to scripted positive affirmations and writing their goals daily with not modern, computerized ways but ancient ways such as paper and pen.
The future Champions will bow in reverence to the Higher Power, showing faith by living life "as if" their wishes are already fulfilled whist they cultivate their inner Zen.
The Coaches of tomorrow will be more like pioneers as they struggle with how to put the real knowledge on the table.
How to know the way
Relevant Coaches will make the connection that Science matters, and it applies to their sport as science exists everywhere and in everything - including wrestling.
And of course they will follow one of the cornerstones of successful leading principals, they will apply it.
"Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do."
~Johann Wolfgang Von Goeth
To be certain, keeping up with the latest in science takes time. And time spent one place is time not spent somewhere else. So it's about management, yes.
The Key to harnessing and effectively utilizing NRG is like everything else, you look to the seed.
This is acceptable practice because that's the place that will give you the best and sometimes only information of value.
The Coaches of tomorrow that wish to stay relevant will keep his/her finger on the pulse of these new arenas of value where much of the success is provided, provided they continue to respect the...
